Here is where I saw the monks, I tried to get them to talk to me but they wouldn’t. They just smiled and waved and continue their ride in their. The culture is really cool and exciting and you can definitely learn a lot. I want to revisit really soon!

Visiting Khao Lak was a great experience. There are lots of resorts to choose from as well as hostels. Even if you do not stay in a resort, the facilities provided by some of the resorts are open to other guests. I had to privilege to chill by the poolside with some friends at resorts such as the Mukdara Beach Villa & Spa Resort.

Another great place to relax is by the many waterfalls Khao Lak has to offer. I visited Ton Chongfa Waterfall. Not only is the experience is adventurous, but rejuvenating once you reach the beautiful waterfalls and witness the wondrous sight, relaxing on the rocks and taking great pictures! (If you are also up for an adventure, definitely trek through the National Parks!)

Also, travelling while black was not bad either. You’ll most likely find more black travellers during the hot season (March-June). I travelled around July, during the rainy season, so there weren’t as many. However, the locals love tourists (as Khao Lak is a very “touristy” town), and they especially intrigued by black people (not in a bad way)! They loved talking to me, said hello every time I walked past this local massage place, and always ask questions about me. Fellas, don’t be surprised if many of the local retailers are trying to sell you suits despite it being summer! They love doing business, and even if I have said that I’m not interested, they will usually be willing to say hello and start a conversation. Not trying to discourage you, but of course, you always have to be vigilant of everyone though.
