Bar Harbor and Acadia National park are a MUST visit! Whether your craving amazing views, amazing food, or amazing hikes you’ll be sure to find something for everyone here!
Some of favorite spots to eat and grab coffee were Side Street Cafe, Choco Latte, The Sweet Spot, and Tap and Barrel Tavern. I would also recommend stopping almost anywhere in town for a lobster roll if you’re a fan!
Some must see spots in Acadia are:
The Raven’s Nest in Schoodic Peninsula (This is where my profile picture was taken). Most people don’t make it to this part of the National Park but if your craving a little adventure and amazing views it is so worth the drive!
I would also recommend Jordan pond as an inclusive hike that is family friendly and GORGEOUS! If you’re up for the challenge take the South Bubble trail to get some of the best views in the park!
I would also recommend catching the Sunrise one morning along the Ocean Path or on Schooners Overlook! Maine offers the amazing opportunity to be one of the first people in the country to view the sunrise and it truly didn’t disappoint!
I felt especially safe as a black queer woman in the parks and had many positive interactions with locals in Bar Harbor and the surrounding areas!
Biggest tips are always order the seafood and try every and anything with Blueberry in it (hands down BEST pies I have ever had in my life) we stayed in a Vrbo that was on the edge of town and a short drive from the parks (Bar Harbor Oasis) with my partners family for 6 nights and that was plenty of time to get around town and the park. 10/10 trip will definitely be visiting again hopefully in the fall when the foliage truly shines!
