I was in South Korea from 2014 to 2019 for study abroad and English teaching. In a nutshell: it’s a safe county, but Koreans are homogeneous -so as a foreign (esp black) you will be the main character for the good and the bad.
Traveling while black can be a fun time but you may want to be with friends here. There are more black travelers and residents than you would expect but you WILL get a lot of stares, so heads up. Living is a different story but there’s tons to do in a week or few of traveling, particularly for skincare and cafe hopping.
