My boyfriend and I just arrived in North Platt today and so far this place is nice. The locals are friendly and the Quality Inn is clean and comfortable. The staff here is particularly wonderful – they worked with us to ensure we had an accessible hotel room on the first floor, and even gave us an upgraded room with a jacuzzi for the trouble!
We went to a bomb family based Mexican restaurant and the food was delicious and affordable. Quick service and friendly atmosphere.
Be sure to bring warm clothes if you go in April, though. This place gets colddddd!

Traveling While Black
North Platte is a good (almost) midway stop from Illinois to Utah. We stayed at the Holiday Inn & Express. It’s right off the e-way. It was clean, the breakfast was decent (a little bit more variety than expected), and the workers were friendly. The pool is 24 hours and the lobby is very vibrant looking. They have a managers reception from 5 -7pm that we missed both times we stopped. We also ate at the normal fast food spots in town and didn’t encounter any “get out” vibes.
