I lived here for six years, as I am in the Air Force. Outside the base, Osan Air Base, there are many places to eat and shop. The Songtan Entertainment District (SED) has gotten a little bit of an “update” to the strip on the “road” to look better, but it’s not as busy as it used to be on the weekend as majority of people will go to Seoul. Things can be unnecessary expensive near military bases, so shop AWAY from them, but the locals are used to seeing black people around and can be friendly and, at rare times, very talkative as they’ve picked up some American customs.
