If you’re looking for a bougie romantic getaway with bae then Saint Barth is the place for you! I actually went with my mom and one of her friends, but when I arrived I ran into many couples who had come for their honeymoon. We took a 45 minute ferry from Saint Maarten and left by plane (the small planes that sit like 8 people it was great because I got to sit right next to the pilot). Saint Barth is beautiful! Immediately coming into the island you’ll see the matching white buildings with their orange rooftops.. giving off that Southern France vibe. The terrain is very hilly and mountainous, but for me thats what made it fun and the views from our hotel room, breathtaking. Saint Barthelemy is a french-speaking country, but you can get around fine with English. We took the name of our taxi driver when we arrived and had him give us a short tour around the island. One of my favorite places where we stopped was “Grand Fond,” it is a region of the island that has mountains on either side to give the illusion that the ocean is in a bowl. There isn’t much to do except the beach, and the country itself is VERY expensive which is why a trip to Saint Barth is perfect for a quick romantic getaway. I wouldn’t recommend staying for more than 3 days if you’re on a strict budget. If you’re looking for some good food I highly recommend going to Le Sereno Restaurant and Aux Amis. They have the option to eat right on the beach, giving you a nice view of the ocean and one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels on the island, Hotel Christopher.
