    Traveling While Black

I’m just getting back from London. I went for the Nottinghill Carnaval. It was so much fun. But I stayed for a total of 5 days. London is nothing like I imagined. I thought it was just a bunch of proper speaking stuff people. They may party harder than Americans. There is a deep Carribean culture amongst the blacks. I found that fascinating. They seem to have kept their heritage. The people were friendly for the most part. But they are aggressive. I took the subway station throughout the trip so I got to see normal life. It is very accepting of different race relationships. I seen a lot of that. It’s definitely a must see.

Amsterdam has become my new favorite place. It’s so relaxing and chill. I took a flight from London. It was about an hour. Took a train to the center of the city. The Heineken taste especially good from the pubs here. I didn’t know this is where it comes from. The architecture is amazing and all the people were nice. There are shops and stores at every turn. People do ride bikes all over and they ride pretty fast so beware. I took a ride on the canal it was about an hour long. That was awesome. I also did the smoke shops which was affordable and had many options. Went to the red light district which had sex shops all over. That was a sight to see. Went to the Ice bar which was also fun. It wasn’t extremely cold. But it’s definitely an experience.

Hi, this was a family vacation for us. I took my 2 kids with me to Niagra Falls not Toronto. We drove up from Philadelphia which had about 8 tolls to get there. The drive was fairly painless but smooth. We stayed at the Wyndham Gardens which was about $130 per night. They did add on an additional $20 per night for parking. They upgraded our room for us with no additional charge. The hotel is in walking distance of everything. Niagra Falls is definitely a must see but you don’t need to spend that much time here. It’s very beautiful to see the falls move with so much beauty and power. We did 2 excursions which I recommend both. The Journey behind the falls was $17 per person. It gives you an upclose and personal look at the falls. It’s definitely a must see. The boat ride on the lake was awesome too. This was $25 per person. It rode you on Niagra lake and up to the falls. It made you feel like you were in the “perfect storm”. Canada seems to be more expensive than USA. It may be because I was in a tourist area. We went to IHOP and although the service was excellent the food was horrible and it was a bill of $100. We went to dinner at Shoeless Joes. The food was good. The service was good. But it took forever for the food to come out. That meal was $130. The area is nice. It’s a strip of restaurants and scenery. I wouldn’t recommend staying here past 2 days because it’s not much else to do

I’ve been to Mexico 3 times. It’s a cheap place to go and it’s lots of fun. I am definitely a Mexican food lover and tequila is my favorite drink. So this is the place for me. The resort food was delicious and it had lots of different tequilas that’s not in America. I went to a restaurant off the resort and it had the best guacamole that I have ever tasted. The customer service was great and they treated me like a celebrity. We went to eat one night at a restaurant on the resort. They didn’t serve any alcohol. I jokingly said to the waiter to bring me some tequila from his secret stash. The waiter went to another restaurant and brung back a whole bottle for me. I was so excited and I gave him a tip. He got so excited about the tip I gave him that he told the manager about it. The manager came over to our table and told me because I was generous that he would cook me up something special and for me not to eat off the menu. He came back with different types of soups and steak. All the customers kept looking at my table wondering where I got it from. Needless to say we stayed until closing and my girlfriend was so drunk I had to carry her to the room.

I went to Montego Bay Jamaica in October of 2018. I rarely left the resort. I did book an excursion for 1 day but it was cancelled due to rain. It was an all inclusive resort. The food was good and they had a stand called the Hut that was on beach. The Hut had the original Jamaican spices not that tourist crap. And it was no additional charge. There were free pour bottles of liquor in your room and everything at the resort was included. I got some marajuana from my taxi driver on the war to the resort. He gave me a big sack for $5. The other guest would just give you weed because it was in abundance. I don’t think I spent over $200 the whole week I was there. I went to a club called Pier 1 which was fun. That was $10 to get in. They ended up closing the club down early because of an altercation that took place outside. It was definitely one of my wildest vacations. It was like spring break for adults. But make sure you put all your valuables in the safe. I left a watch on the dresser and it was stolen. My trip to Jamaica was $900 for 4 nights all inclusive at the Riu Reggae. It was a last minute trip and not planned at all. I actually met up with people that I met while on a previous trip.

I went to Dubai in October of 2017. This was my first time overseas and my first time traveling alone. It was an awesome experience. The nightlife was awesome and there was tons of things to do. All the excursions was affordable. They also had a lot of history. My favorite excursion was visiting the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. That’s definitely a must see. I also did camel back riding and rode RTV’s in the desert. I caught a cab and went to the local shops. That’s when it was kind of intimidating at first. The people all race to you and try to convince you to buy from their shops. It’s a big are with lots of outdoor shops but they do have actual stores as well. I asked 1 guy just to show me around for all the stuff I was looking for. All the people were nice and I met lots of people that I still communicate with since. This Dubai trip was $1200 with flight and hotel for 5 nights. I did 4 different excursions , 3 of them were about $50 a piece and the trip to the Grand Mosque was about $100. Well worth it. I stayed at the Palms on Jumeriah Beach.
