Visiting the city of Havana is at least a 2-3 day activity in itself. Varadero is a nice resort area about 2 hrs away from Havana with nice beaches. Make sure to grab a sweet snack at Cake Shop before walking along paseo del Prado and viewing all the art on display and for sale. El Malecon is a beautiful and romantic spot to watch the water along the city walls and take lovely photos with Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro in the background. There's no reason as to why you shouldn't have a nice meal in Plaza de Armas while reading one of the lovely books you've purchased just outside the museums located in the area.

Spent a few days in South Beach over a holiday weekend and it was incredibly fun. There's so much to do along Ocean Dr and the places that I loved the most were the drinks at Wet Willies and the massive Chicken and Waffle at Big Pink. The World Erotic Art Museum was an interesting experience. Brunch at FL Cafe has bottomless mimosas which will sneak up on you quickly. Monday Reggae night a Purdy Lounge was a great experience to party Miami style without the large Miami crowds. The drinks, food, and people on Calle Ocho around Miximo Gomez Park is a definite must experience.

Visited Cancun for a friend's wedding vow renewal and it was a great couple of days. Stayed in the hotel zone which is exactly that, dozens and dozens of hotels and resorts lined up along the beach which could get a bit crowded but provided tons of experiences offered by them. Just on the other side of the major road was the El Rey Archaelogical Zone which provided some near my history of the area and it's people. If you're in the southern part of the strip, I highly suggest to grab breakfast from KM 19.5 Taking the inexpensive bus to the northern most point of the hotel zone leads you to all the clubs that are full and exciting any night that you're there.

Visiting Martinique was the best birthday trip that I could've ever possibly have taken. The country is full of rich history in regards to it's relationship to the slave trade, sugar cane, bananas, and of course rum. Each day I spent on the island consisted of visiting one corner of the island for it's beach, rum factory, and some historical aspect. In the Diamante area, you must visit Diamond Rock and of course Cap 110 which is a sculpture in memorial to the slaves that died in a sinking slave ship. In the most touristy area which is Les Trois-Ilets you must visit the home of Josephine Bonaparte and take the guided tour before heading up the road to grabbing something to eat in a restaurant located near the hotels. The Saint James Rum Distillerie and the restaurant right next door are a must see as well. Further down a rather difficult road is the Banana museum which was an incredibly beautiful and informational place to visit. Although the waters are a bit rough at the beach, Restaurant Le Point de Vue is a very romantic place to have dinner and watch the sunset. Martinique is definitely a couple's vacation spot where you'll spend a lot of lovely time driving around the island in awe of all the beautiful views.

I visited Trinidad mainly Port of Spain on a trip with some friends with college. First of all, any trip to the island needs to include going to Maracas Bay beach to get some Shark and Bake from Richard's Shark and Bake. If you don't, then you can't really say that you were there. Chaud Cafe & Wine Bar is a nice place to go when you're feeling a little bit fancy, but not wanting to pay fancy prices. You can't go wrong on any night by going to any of the bars/clubs on Ariapita Ave (The Ave) but we found ourselves at CoCo Lounge and The Hookah Factory. Enjoying a nice lunch at The Breakfast Shed and walking it off in the Promenade across the street where you can people watch those coming and going from work as well as those shopping in the small malls located there. Go very early to De Boss Ah Soup and enjoy it in Queen's Park Savannah.

Cartagena is a city of beautiful and culture. Some places of note to visit are the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas. It's a castle that shows the Spanish history of the city and provides some of the best views of the city. Perfect place to view the sunset over the city. Another thing that is a must is to take a tour to San Basilio de Palenque which is the first free city in the Americas. Learning about the preserved and active African culture is an incredible experience. Cafe del Mar is an overrated tourist experience so I'd suggest just bringing your own drinks and snacks to other places along the wall to view the sunset over the water. Fill up your instagram with beautiful pictures of Getsemani's murals and colourful buildings. Walking around the walled city both during the day and (much cooler) night is a great to be around the people and statues in the many plazas. Cartagena is both a trip meant for couples and solo travelers alike. Don't forget to do a Chiva Rumba!
