Australia is all about adventure. I thought I would die when I went there expecting deadly insects, reptiles and animals everywhere but the golden rule is, if there are people living there, there are people living there. The key is to listen to all rules and play it safe.
Gold Coast – Took surfing lessons. We went to Fraser Island which is South of Brisbane to learn more about the aboriginal people.
I studied abroad in Australia for seven weeks. We stayed in Hervey Bay and flew down to Sydney and back. The most adventurous place I’ve ever been to. I even went sky diving here and although I enjoyed it, I no longer have a need to do it anywhere else. We drove from Hervey Bay to Cairns stopping along the way at the Gold Coast. Australia is absolutely beautiful and all of the people I came in contact with there were too. My classmates and I did a lot of volunteering on the aboriginal farms making paintings and soaps. It is a “must do” to connect with the natives and learn about their history. We spent a lot of time at zoos and animal sanctuaries.
So if you’re into the beach and surfing and views of a coast line that never ends the Gold Coast is for you. I stayed at Xanadu Beach Resort, perfect for my group. 2 bedroom apartment style resort with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living area, an apartment basically. It was near public transport, that was very efficient and priced great.
The best part were the views of the beach and of course the beach itself. It never ended. You can also hop the tram and head to the downtown area where you can go to the SkyPoint Observation deck. Restaurants and bars are abundant down in that area as well.
Good time if you’re looking for that ocean life.
