I actually used to live here. Extremely racist town. I remember as a child being in the grocery store with my mother and the was a white mother with her child and the child kept repeating, “mommy, they’re black! Mommy, they’re black!”
Obviously the mother shared something negative with her 5 year old child about black folks.
I was always uncomfortable in this city and the teachers treated me with micro aggressions.
