We spent time in the Merrimack Valley and Seacoast regions (Manchester, Concord, Salem, Portsmouth, Newcastle, and Rye specifically and respectively) and absolutely loved it! If you enjoy the outdoors and nature, there’s tons to do. Even if the outdoors isn’t your jam, there’s still a lot to see and do.
You will not find a lot of Black people or diversity for that matter. However, every single person we encountered were incredibly kind. It is also one of the most LGBTQIA+ friendly destinations we’ve visited.

Traveling While Black
Iceland may be the land of fire and ice, but you can definitely find some ice in New Hampshire. You wouldn’t think but there are actually a million things you can do in New Hampshire, especially in the winter time! A must do is the Ice Castles! If you’re in the New England area, then you should definitely go.
You can walk around and see all the ice. There is even a section where you can slide down the ice. If you’re looking for a winter wonderland, but you don’t feel like going to Iceland, the ice castles are the next best thing! P.s, they have a pretty good cinnamon bun at the concession stand that you can buy!
