Pisa can definitely be seen in half a day. I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to book a hotel room unless it is In Passing to another city, as it is super central to the other cities.
See the Leaning Tower, the cathedral, the dome and maybe shop a little at the shops and leave. If you do want to go inside the tower, check to book ahead as sometimes they only allow about 30 people at a time inside.
The city isn’t very clean and the locals are always lurking trying to sell you “real” stuff for cheap. Overall I got the picture I wanted and headed back to Florence !
I had a great time touring Pisa. It’s a small town and can be accomplished in a day or half-day trip from Florence. I didn’t stay the night to see if night life was popular. It is much more of a place that you go to for history and to relax.
One day in Pisa is enough.
It is a small and very beautiful city.
You can be in Rome or Florence and take a day to get to know this beautiful city and its well-known tower of Pisa.
Just come for the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You can pay to go inside if you want, and even go to the top for aerial views. After that, take a train, and get out of Pisa. There’s literally nothing else to do. Get some gelato at the shop right nearby the tower, but there’s just nothing here.
One of the days we took a two hour train ride from Rome, Italy to Pisa, Italy which I recommend if you want to see the leaning Tower of Pisa. It’s like opening up a history book right in front of your eyes! Get creative with your pictures too because literally everyone does the same pose in front of the leaning tower (don’t worry you’ll know the pose when you get there)! The line to go inside the tower gets long so anticipate that but we opted to not go inside. I didn’t find much else to do in Pisa so after we were done we took the trip back to Rome. I definitely recommend spending at least a half day in Pisa.
Didn’t find much to do here, but if you’re traveling throughout Italy you can make it a stop in your journey. Take a picture at the popular leaning tower of Pisa, eat some pizza and Gelato and keep it pushing to other parts of beautiful Italy. You can also enter the tower and get a little historical information as to why the tower leans.
