I knew nothing about Skopje before spending 5 days there, so I had no expectations. But I honestly really enjoyed the city! I only met a few other Black travelers, but all the locals were kind and the city felt super safe.
Some of my favorite aspects:
1. Everything is super affordable
2. The food is great
3. Kayaking in Matka Canyon was unforgettable
Overall, I’d recommend Skopje if you’re looking to get off the beaten path.
