I flew into Casablanca for a birthday celebration in December 2022. It was an adventure packed trip as we use the city as a hub. The first thing we did when we landed was the city tour which included the famous Mosque and our tour also included a delicious lunch with a choice of an alcoholic beverage.
The second day we did a day tour to Marrakech which surprisingly wasn’t too far. While in Marrakech we had a jammed packed itinerary which included a city tour, camel ride, and we visit the beautiful garden (Jardin Majorelle) among other things that day. Arriving to our hotel in Casablanca that evening, we had a nice late dinner.
The third day, we did another city tour to the Blue City (Chefchauhan) which was absolutely stunning and very picturesque. Our private driver picked us up around 5am or 6am
(can’t recall exact timing) that morning and we got to the city shortly around 10am or so if I recall correctly. We did take couple of breaks in between the drive there to use the bathroom, etc. While at the Blue City during our tour, we had a delicious meal which was included. We ended our tour around 3pm and started our drive back to Casablanca. Upon arrival back to Casablanca, we went to this beautiful restaurant overlooking the beach rocks of sort for dinner. The food was delicious and there was a DJ there playing Afrobeats music so it was a total vibe!
On the fourth day, we had a free day where we took time to relax and had a spa day at the Four Seasons before departing and continue our next adventure that early evening to Portugal (which was a relatively short flight). Although we use Casablanca as a hub, it worked for us as it was the middle point to get to the Blue City and Marrakech.
We called our trip to Morocco–speed dating, we were there for mostly highlights of the 3 cities and we were satisfied. If someone is looking to be there longer, I would definitely recommend Marrakech as there is probably a lot more happening. However, I didn’t mind the city of Casablanca as it was laid back and relaxed. It really depends on someone taste and what they ultimately want.
Arrive in Casablanca take the bus or a private car and go visite and stay in Marrakech more think to do,
If you r Muslim you can stay a day in Casablanca visit the Hassan 2 mosque near the beach. But Marrakech is the place to be.
Casablanca well was different , as we expected to have the whole Casablanca moment like in the movies but it would be the city you can see for a day trip and be out. There is not much to do there and we personally did not feel safe in Casablanca for some reason especially in the evening as two young women. We got harassed a lot by the men when we were out in the streets and followed at one point.
The taxis there turn off their meters when they see tourists so they will exploit you and their Uber does not really work or bear any fruit as we had to wait 45 minutes for an uber as they kept canceling.
They have the lovely mosque there which was the only main attraction for us and then after that we stayed in our hotel room.
