I drove around several European countries, it was a lot of fun. That’s how I got to Sweden, drove from Denmark, almost 7 hours. Stockholm is a beautiful city, during summertime kayaking and canoeing are very popular activities. Hiking Tresticklan National Park is beautiful.
I had an amazing 72 hours in Stockholm! I’m already trying to figure out how to finesse my mileage points into a mid-summer trip.
I stayed at the Downtown Camper Hotel. Don’t let the name full you, its a hip and modern stay for 20s, 30s something folks who are looking to be in the center of it all. I did not get the weird staring and perplexed looked I had in Copenhagen and I saw plenty of brown, black, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc. folks working and walking around the city. This makes me feel more comfortable.
I met a Brit at my hotel bar in March on a Tuesday. We hit it off and ended up taking the party to Soap Bar; a cool bar that transformed into a nightclub on a weeknight! They played Top 40 music and some old school hip hop. The drinks were pricy but strong. You may see me on the scene in Stockholm this summer!
MALMÖ; is located in the south of Sweden and very diverse, so if you are black, then no need to worry about any racial attack what so ever.
I’d suggest not staying more than 3 days, max 5 days. for the fact the city isn’t that big (third largest city in Sweden) and tourist attractions is quite limited if you staying longer.
If you looking for something more diverse then you should look at an area called Möllevångstorget even during the night. But if you looking for something with a little bit of class and prestige (not necessarily) then Lilla torg or Stortorg will be the place.
I’ve lived here for about 8 years and I like it
If you are planning yo visit Stockholm, make sure that you plan it early. Stockholm is a wonderful coty to visit, many things to see and appreciate. It’s also a very expensive city. Hotels are expensive if you do not book them with antecedence. Whichever country you are, flight tickets are also quite expensive even from the others European countries and a guided city tour is also likely to be expensive. Great nightlife which ends at 3 am in average, if you want to go to the best clubs you should be 23years and plus, expensive drinks. Besides that, Stockholm is worth it! You will not regret. Swedish people are very educated, they will help you if you need with a great smile in their face. Everything is very easy to find and easy to deal with, they have great commun transports (taxis are very expensive). The best season to visit is during summer (if you do no like winter) especially in July/August. They have many cozy places in the sea to enjoy a fancy life.
