My family really enjoyed Tunisia. The people were friendly, the country beautiful, and we loved the hotel we stayed at. We stayed at Suites hotel les charmilles & spa. The beach was I. Walking distance and they had a multiple pools and saunas. The food was amazing anywhere we went and it was really cheap to eat. For example a decent meal for a family of 5 was the equivalent of $30-$50 US Dollars for all of us. We visited the Carthage ruins, Sidi Bou Said, the spice market, and some beaches. Brush up on your French or Arabic so you can communicate but were able to speak English with some people. If visiting religious sites dress conservative and women cover their head to respect the culture, but it’s not as conservative as I heard in other places. Tunisia is a closed currency country. You can’t take any of their money out. The only issue we had was exchanging money at the airport at one of the money exchange places. They shorted us about $25 and I hear it’s regular thing at those places. They were also rude. Either spend all the money or exchange at your hotel. It was easy to exchange at the hotel when we arrived but we left too early and the front desk was closed. We should have exchanged the night before or just spent it all. That did not ruin our stay, and it’s not a representation of most of the people we met. I can’t wait to go back.
